Activity: Organising and attending an event Organising and contributing to an event Academic

Description

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is one of the priorities of the Dutch Government as part of its Presidency of the European Union in 2016. The development of new antibiotics is a major aspect strongly associated to AMR. In a two days symposium international experts communicate state-of-the-art science from the definition of the problem through the discovery, design and synthesis of new antibiotics as well as development of alternative approaches. This event is of particular interests to all stakeholders in the area of antibiotics and AMR. This symposium is organized under auspices of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Sciences (KNAW) and is further financially supported by The Young Academy (De Jonge Akademie), the University Medical Centre Groningen, the RUG Houdstermaatschappij and the Gezamenlijk Gastheerschap Groningen.
