We were discussing the latest (scary) possibilities of the technology to profile applicants and build psychological profiles, before diving into the ethical and legal questions of using high-risk systems in application and selection procedures.
While many of the technologies (such as automatically profiling voices or visual appearances through video) seem like a dystopian vision of the future, many companies are preparing such systems to being rolled out in the professional environment. Are applicants aware? How can we manage the intersection between human and machine bias? How can organisations build the literacy to manage such systems, use them efficiently and responsibly, and explain to applicants how they actually make decisions?
