Developmental trajectories for sensory phenotypes and molecular targets in rodent models of synaptic dysfunction

Activity: Talk and presentationAcademic presentationAcademic

Description

Autism is characterized by differences in social interaction, repetitive behaviours, restricted interests, and sensory differences that begin in early life. The clinical presentations, genetics, and developmental trajectories of autism are incredibly diverse with over a thousand genes implicated in being involved in autism. By studying behavioural rodent models of synaptic dysfunction we are aiming to find common biological processes that are influenced by this subgroup of genes. This is an important step forward for future patient stratification and the development of personalized early treatments.
