Description
The goal of the workshop as part of the project “Hidden Archives of Peace and Conflict” (funded by the Gratama Foundation) was to collect and reflect upon experiences with very different forms of private, hidden, counter, but also official archives and collections from a multidisciplinary perspective. In four input sessions, epistemological, methodological, ethical, but also very pragmatic challenges of working with various forms of often unstructured data were discussed. The organizational team (Werner Distler and Carla Lichtblau) welcomed Eva Willems (University of Ghent), Iva Vukušić (Utrecht University), Henry Redwood (King's College London), Nora El Qadim (Université Paris-8 / Centre Marc Bloch Berlin), Léo Fourn (Sciences Po Aix), Rita El Khoury (Swisspeace), Monique J. Beerli (University of Geneva), and Hannah Franzki (Free University Berlin) to Groningen. Colleagues from IRIO and the Library substantially supported the workshop and engaged with the discussion (Christine Andrä, António Ferraz de Oliveira, Julia Costa López, Renata Summa, and David Veltman).Period | 15-Dec-2023 |
