Description
In this lecture, Prof. Marieke Pijnenborg and I introduced what studying at the University entails, what psychology is, what the brains look like (we could show real brains that we borrowed from the UMCG Anatomy department), and introduced the importance of perception for psychological well-being and group behavior. In a number of experiments, it was shown that your senses cannot be trusted. Also, we explained what psychosis and depression is, how prevalent this is in children, as a way to educate, normalize, but also to lower the threshold to seek help if needed.
