PhD Academy lunch lecture series: Are we really that critical? An interactive approach to logical thinking

Activity: Talk and presentationAcademic presentationAcademic

Highly educated people are expected to be critical thinkers, but are their thoughts really logical? Or are everyday life problems approached differently than professional problems?

In this lunch talk you will decide for yourself through interactive elements which you can approach (un)critically. We will discuss general principles of critical thinking, common biases, and how formal and visual representations can structure reasoning and argumentation. We also show results from recent research among high school students concerning their logical reasoning skills.

Come and find out, and learn how critical you really (think you) are!
