Activity: Organising and attending an event Organising and contributing to an event Academic

Description

The workshop was organized as part of the inter- and trans-disciplinary project AccessCity4All.

During the workshop:

1. A layered perspective on accessibility was presented to the participating policymakers from different municipalities of the province of Groningen.

2. The first results of spatial analysis of accessibility by public transport, walking, and cycling to different types of services in the province of Groningen were presented to policymakers and the importance of adding knowledge gained from move-along interviews with vulnerable residents and large-scale public participatory surveys to the analysis of accessibility was highlighted.

3. A participatory approach was then used to collect the opinions/knowledge of policymakers regarding the vulnerable population segments and the neighborhoods of the province our further research should focus on, for a better understanding of the accessibility needs of different groups of residents living in different areas of the province. Furthermore, the first draft of the public participatory survey (PPGIS) and questions the policymakers would be interested in were discussed.
