    Description

In my presentation I will elaborate upon a cognitive-semiotic theory of cultural evolution. The theory, aligning with Merlin Donald’s work on cognitive evolution, takes an evolutionary perspective on human semiotic culture. It argues that human semiotic culture started with the emergence of an experience of difference – or decoupling – between memory and actuality.
