Description
At the University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG), we use Pure to manage the metadata of all our research output. The Pure team at the Medical Library plays an important role in keeping the system up to date: throughout the year we pro-actively import publications from Scopus and check everything researchers add themselves to ensure quality and completeness. In the Netherlands, there's growing attention for research impact and how we recognize and reward researchers. Metrics are part of that conversation—used carefully and in context. At the UMCG, we support a variety of reporting needs: from simple annual overviews to more in-depth citation-based reports, and even full research impact reports for departments or individual researchers.
Pure plays a key role in all of this. It's the only place where we can get a validated, department-level publication set. That data is either exported to SciVal, where we collect metrics, or is exported from the new reporting module. When the metrics come from SciVal, we create custom analyses or benchmarks using Excel templates.
Because the role of Pure within our research analytics the system is not only used and recognized by researchers and librarians, but also by management.
In this presentation I will showcase how Pure is used within the UMCG, give examples of the impact reports and show how we use the new reporting module.
