Description

The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Postdoctoral Fellowships is a European funding scheme aimed at promoting researchers’ mobility. It provides funding for 2-year postdoctoral fellowships for researchers of any age, nationality and discipline.

The University of Groningen has an excellent track record in this funding scheme. This year 8 projects out of 27 proposals have been awarded (reaching a 30% average success rate against the 18% EU wide). Besides, other seven projects are in the reserve list: this means that 56% of the submitted projects have reached the cut-off score for funding but due to the limited budget not all of them have been funded.

These are the eight researchers have been selected by the European Commission to come to Groningen as postdoctoral fellows to develop their research projects with their UG/UMCG supervisors: Ana Fernandez-Aballi (Todd Weir); Rolando Gonzales Martinez (Hinke Haisma); Ru Jiang (Gerald Roelfes); Uros Kovac (Erin Wilson); Arkadeb Pal (Graeme Blake); Sagar Raturi (Bert Poolman); Luigia Serpico (Helder Santos); Jianyu Zhang (Ben Feringa).

The goal of the MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships is to enhance the creative and innovative potential of researchers holding a PhD, wishing to acquire new skills through advanced training, international, interdisciplinary and intersectoral mobility. It is also interesting for senior researchers aiming at attracting promising fellows from all over the world, thus expanding their research capacity as well as building on their international network.

It is expected that the next round for proposals will be published in April 2023 and the deadline will be in September 2023. The UG will organize an online training for applicants and supervisors. If you need further information, please contact your Faculty Funding Officer (login needed) and Gema Ocana.
