In this article, (in German) the distinction between mechanical- vs. holistic judgment is explained, and the validity difference of these two methods for performance predictions is reviewed. Misconceptions and commonly raised objections against mechanical judgment are discussed and put into perspective. Lastly, the scientific article by Meijer et al. (2020) is referred to, as a tutorial that may help practitioners implement mechanical judgment in practice.
