Title Nine Marie Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Networks for the University of Groningen Degree of recognition International Media name/outlet News - University of Groningen Media type Web Country/Territory Netherlands Date 22/04/2024 Description The University of Groningen has achieved very good results in the last round of Marie Sklodowska Curie Doctoral Networks. Nine projects have been funded out of 42 submissions: 1 as coordinator, 8 as beneficiaries. Moreover, one other project in the role of coordinator has been placed on the reserve list. That makes our success rate 21% against 12% EU wide (these numbers do not include UMCG proposals).
MSCA Doctoral Networks implement doctoral programmes, by partnerships of universities, research institutions and infrastructures, businesses including SMEs, and other socio-economic actors from different countries across Europe and beyond. These doctoral programmes have to respond to well-identified needs in various research and innovation areas, expose the researchers to the academic and non-academic sectors, and offer research training, as well as transferable skills and competences relevant for innovation and long-term employability.

Title Nine MSCA Doctoral Network grants for FSE researchers Degree of recognition International Media name/outlet News - Faculty of Science and Engineering, University of Groningen Media type Web Country/Territory Netherlands Date 23/04/2024 Description Nine researchers of the Faculty of Science and Engineering (University of Groningen) have received a Horizon Europe Marie Sklodowska Curie Doctoral Network grant. One as coordinator and eight as partners. The research projects have been funded out of 42 submissions, which makes the University of Groningen’s success rate 21% against 12% EU wide .
With a Doctoral Network grant, a consortium of universities, research institutes and industrial partners can set up an international training network for training PhD students.
