Research interests

As a member of the Center for Language and Cognition Groningen (CLCG), Angeliek van Hout leads the Acquisition Lab there.  Her main research focus is first language acquisition in typically developing monolingual children. Taking a crosslinguistic perspective, she has investigated topics in temporal and nominal reference, specifically, tense and aspect, telicity and event culmination, and definiteness. Additional domains in children's development in syntax, semantics, pragmatics and cognition include: quantification, subject and object questions, long-distance wh-questions, object pronouns, quantificational pronouns, passives, scalar implicatures, theory of mind reasoning.
