What do you have to eat in order to avoid diseases of affluence, like diabetes, coronary heart disease, atherosclerosis, or stroke? These disease do not develop overnight, but are often preceded by complaints like headache, stomachache, stress, deterioration of mood, and/or fatigue. Because it appears to be quite difficult to adhere to a generic healthy dietary pattern, our attempt is to come to Personalized Nutrition for improvement of sustainable health.
Using our platform "Eating for Science", (in Dutch "Eten voor de Wetenschap"), we investigate whether and how "personalized health environments" work to maintain or improve one's health condition, but also wether personalized/individual markers can be identified, which could be used to predict who responds best to which dietary manipulation that will suit someone most optimally in the attempt to stay healthy.
