Research interests

My research in the context of theoretical physics spans from perturbative and nonperturbative aspects of strong interactions, to predictions of the Standard Model of particle physics, physics beyond the Standard Model, lattice field theory and, more recently, formal aspects of non-Abelian conformal gauge theories and black holes. I employ analytical as well as lattice field theory numerical methods, bridging traditionally separate communities within the hep-th area.


Elisabetta Pallante received her PhD in 1993 in Rome, La Sapienza. She was a research fellow at SISSA, a Marie Curie fellow at NORDITA and obtained a Ramón y Cajal both at the University of Valencia and UAM Madrid, before joining the University of Groningen as a Rosalind Franklin fellow in 2004. She holds the chair of field theory and particle physics at the University of Groningen since 2008.
She co-authored pioneering works on the muon g-2, CP violation, the conformal window of QCD, and was among the key players in establishing the use of effective field theory within the lattice field theory community. Recently, she co-authored a novel strategy to study black-holes’ instabilities and is currently focused on conformal aspects of non-Abelian gauge theories. 
She was founder of the FSE Honours College programme, which she directed from 2010 to 2020, served as VSI scientific director from 2020 to 2022 and was in the initial steering group of the NWA route Bouwstenen van Materie en Fundamenten van Ruimte en Tijd. She is also a member of the NWO Physics Round Table, the NWO Committee for the Scientific Use of Supercomputers (WGS) and the DRSTP governing board.
