Research interests

Intensivist/cardiologist and associate professor at the Department of Critical Care. I am experienced in patient care, research, organization, teaching and training. My focus is on evidence based decision making. Board member at the Dutch Society of Intensive Care: Nederlandse Vereniging voor Intensive Care (NVIC) and the Joint Committee Intensive Care (GIC). Chair of the residency training program.

Currently I am the principal investigator of the ongoing registries: Simple Intensive Care Studies (SICS) and Simple Observational Critical Care Study (SOCCS). With an enthusiastic and dedicated team of multidisciplinary students we aim to unravel the diagnostic and prognostic value of physical and physiological examination in acute care. Program leader GUIDE-CAPE.
