Research interests

My Research Interest are into the field of chronic respiratory failure and (home) mechanical ventilation. Chronic respiratory failure can be due to different diseases, I am interested in all those underlying causes with special interest in chronic respiratory failure in Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). Furthermore, I am interested in respiratory muscle drive and functioning as underlying mechanisms of chronic respiratory failure and in the diagnostics of respiratory muscle drive and functioning as part of patient-ventilator assynchrony but also in more unknown diseases of respiratory muscles.
