Biosketch

Per earned his doctorate from the University of Copenhagen and did his post doctorate with Richard Hudson at UC Irvine. Per uses population genetics/omics in ecology and evolution. Per has worked as faculty at; the School of Biological Sciences (University of Bangor), Environmental Science, Policy and Management & Museum of Vertebrate Zoology (UC Berkeley), Department of Genetics, Microbiology and Toxicology (University of Stockholm) and Organismic and Evolutionary Biology (Harvard University).

Teaching

Courses

I coordinate the MSc courses:

  • Principles of Population Genetics in Natural Populations
  • Practical Computing for Biologists

I also teach in the MSc course Polar Ecology, and the conservation genetics part of the BSc course Conservation Biology.

Supervision of MSc and PhD projects

I supervise MSc research projects in our Marine Biology master programme, mainly projects aimed at marine conservation based on population genetic assessments.

Prospective PhD students/post docs

If you are interested in conducting a PhD or postdoc in our group, feel free to make contact.
