Victoria Anastasyadis is an art historian specialising in modern and contemporary applied art and design. Her PhD research focuses on the post-war artist couple Herman and Désirée Scholten. Both made autonomous artworks with textiles, as well as commissioned works. In a monograph, Anastasyadis examines the positioning of both artists and compares their work with each other and with a broader art context.

Previously, Victoria Anastasyadis worked as (guest) curator and researcher for the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, the TextielMuseum in Tilburg, Museum Arnhem, Keramiekmuseum Princessehof in Leeuwarden, the European Ceramic Work Centre in Oisterwijk and Design Museum Den Bosch, among other institutions. She was, notably, curator of the exhibitions 'TextielLab Highlights: Kustaa Saksi' (TextielMuseum, 2013), 'Sheila Hicks - Why Not?' (TextielMuseum, 2016) and 'From Art Nouveau to Art Deco - Ceramics from the Arnhemsche Fayencefabriek' (Museum Arnhem, 2017). She was also editor for Vormen uit Vuur (Forms from Fire), the art historical journal on glass and ceramics of the NVVCG, from 2017 to 2024. She writes regularly on art and exhibitions and does artist interviews for The Journal of Modern Craft, Metropolis M, Vormen uit Vuur, TxP and the Creative Industries Fund NL, among others. For the Creative Industries Fund, she was an advisor on Design from 2019 to 2022. She also sits on the final exam committees for several art academies, was a jury member for the Textile Biennial Rijswijk in 2014 and a board member of the Design History Foundation NL from 2011 to 2015.
