The Prof. A.E.J. Modderman Stichting awards the Moddermanprijs every two years. The prize is awarded to dissertations in areas which are relevant to the criminal law (substantive criminal law; procedural criminal law; forensic psychology; criminology; comparative criminal law). The jury consists of professors of Criminal Law from four different universities. The prize of €2500 is awarded to one or more dissertations on the basis of the criterion of ‘exceptional scholarly quality’. ‘Strafrechtelijke aansprakelijkheid heroverwogen’ was the winner for the years 2008 and 2009.
