The Praemium Erasmianum Foundation yearly awards the Erasmus Prize to a person or institution which has made an exceptionally important contribution to culture in Europe. Additionally, the Foundation awards a maximum of five Research Prizes with a value of €3000 in recognition of an extraordinary dissertation by a young academic researcher in the field of the humanities and social sciences.
