    Abstract

There are two leading theories for glaucoma - the mechanical and vascular theories - which are explored in detail in this thesis. This book confronts glaucoma as a whole-body disease, and explores not only the eye, but the ear, the brain, the blood, and the effect of medications. The aim of this work is not to convince the reader to choose one theory and staunchly support it, but to encourage discussion and open up new ideas about glaucoma and how to approach it.
