## Abstract

A solver for the two-dimensional stationary incompressible Navier-Stokes equations is presented. The equations are discretized on a staggered grid using a finite-difference formulation with first-order upwind discretization for the convective terms. This non-linear system is solved by a Picard iteration. In the inner-iteration a linearization of the full system of Navier-Stokes equations is solved using the BiCGstab(2) method with preconditioning. As preconditioner an incomplete blockwise LU-factorization based on a repeated red-black ordering scheme is used. Each block is a 3 x 3 matrix corresponding to the three variables u,v and p of a grid cell. this preconditioner is illustrated by tests simulating the pow in a lid-driven cavity at low Reynolds numbers. More research has to be done but so far the approach seems promising.
