Abstract

This article examines the background to Brexit and the developments since the UK's referendum on leaving the European Union. It discusses the judgments of the Divisional Court and of the UK Supreme Court on whether there consent of Parliament was required before the UK government could notify the European Council of its intention to withdraw from the European Union. It also examines the UK government's White Paper and the Repeal Bill, and considers various implications of Brexit and possible scenarios.
