Chiral thiols. Synthesis and enantiomeric excess determination

Chiral thiols are a class of chira compounds, which is gaining mone and nore attention the last decenniun. Especially α-mercaptocarboxylic acids are frequently found as a structunal unit in (biologically) important products. As a consequence, many synthetic analoga or derivatives of these natural products, but also other organosulfur compounds, have been prepared. Especially inberesting are the so-called pseudo-peptides. α-Mercaptocarboxylic acids often serve as the starting naterial for there syntheses.
