Abstract

In contrast to the extensive knowledge on the effects of chronic smoke exposure on lung function and airway inflammation, there is a paucity of data on the acute effects of smoking in this respect. It seems important to know these effects since repetitive acute smoke effects may constitute the underlying causal chain leading to the ultimate chronic effects. ... Zie: Summary
