Abstract
In this speech I discuss the outcomes of my research on how the Dutch Council for Culture evaluates artistic quality, posing the question whether this entails evaluating quality in a regional context. Moreover, some preliminary outcomes of our research on the regionalization of Dutch cultural policy are discussed and models to distribute the responsibilities for cultural policy among Dutch authorities.
