Abstract
Jaundice is common in newborns. The decision to initiate diagnostic evaluation for the cause depends on the infant's age and stool color. The aim of this article is to discuss the underlying causes and how physicians should act when confronted with a jaundiced baby. Care for a jaundiced baby involves professionals from community-based to tertiary care. Good collaboration agreements are very important.
