    Abstract

    German and Norwegian are closely related languages. Taking a Norwegian beginners’ book for German as a Foreign Language as a starting point, this article asks if the use of German-Norwegian cognates contributes (or can contribute) to reduced learning efforts (Hufeisen / Marx 2014) for beginner learners of German.
