Abstract
Fracture surfaces of ductile failure of two types bulk amorphous metallic alloys were studied using quantitative and qualitative fractographic analysis. The observed fractographic behaviour of ductile failure in comparison with the ductile failure of amorphous alloy ribbons shows signs of the same failure mechanisms. Fracture surfaces are created by a meniscus instability process. Some observed morphological differences are explained as the influence of different geometric conditions during the voids nucleation, growth, and coalescence.
