    Abstract

In this paper, we investigate the relationship between organisational conditions and entrepreneurial behaviour. Specifically, we analyse a bridging mechanism, named the entrepreneurial mindset, as a characteristic that aligns organisational conditions with entrepreneurial behaviour. Organisational conditions seem to influence entrepreneurial behaviour, but only to a partial extent, which could be because a mediating variable at the individual employee level, plays a role. We propose an empirical investigation of the entrepreneurial mindset as a mediating factor between the organisational conditions and entrepreneurial behaviour of employees. We employ a survey methodology within multiple small to large sized organisations. The results indicate that certain organisational conditions stimulate the entrepreneurial mindset of employees, implying that organisations can undertake action to influence employees’ entrepreneurial mindset, in turn stimulating entrepreneurial behaviour amongst employees. Our results provide room to open a discussion regarding the insights of employees’ entrepreneurial mindset.
