    Abstract

The purpose of this article is to discuss some methodological problems of environmental zoning. The principle of environmental zoning will be elaborated. In addition an overview is given of a number of approaches that have been followed in practice to arrive at an integral judgement. Finally some theoretical reflections are given, whereby a relationship is drawn between environmental zoning and multicriteria evaluation.
