Abstract

This chapter examines how deontic statuses are replicated in normative orders in general. Success and failure of replication seems to depend on the degree in which depositories of deontic status (either actors or documents) are linked to others by chains of count-as rules, their configuration, and the degree in which they are mentioned, invoked or used.
