Abstract

The present research has been conducted as an additional contribution to the international Reaction Pattern Research (RPR). So far religion and its influence on the rearing and attitude of juveniles with respect to social limits have not received a place of their own within the RPR. The present research puts this right. The main theory to play a role in this research is Travis Hirschi's "bonding theory" or "social control theory" (1969). Hoewever, this theory is used as the foundation of the formulation of the problem and not tested. For the present research is of an explorative nature and consequently knows no testing.
