Grief after loss in disasters [invited keynote]

Research output: Contribution to conferencePaperProfessional

Abstract

Dr. Lonneke Lenferink works as a post-doctoral researcher in clinical psychology
at the University of Groningen and Utrecht. She examines the psychological
consequences of, and care after, loss and trauma. In research projects among relatives of missing persons, homicidally bereaved people, people who lost loved ones due to the MH17 disaster, earthquake survivors, and people bereaved by traffic accidents, she identifies risk factors of psychopathology and evaluates treatment effects.

In her talk “Grief after loss in disasters” she will focus on common psychological responses after disaster-related loss, including disturbed grief, post-traumatic stress, and depression. She will tell you more about resilience after loss and risk
factors for developing long-lasting complaints.
