Abstract

Observations in the 21 cm line of neutral hydrogen made with the Arecibo- and the Westerbork radio telescopes are presented of a sample of binary spiral galaxies. Completed with optical information, these observations are used to determine the spatial orientation of the spin-vectors of the galaxies and to estimate their systemic- and rotation velocities. These data are used in an accompanying paper to study the angular momentum properties of binary spiral galaxies in the context of galaxy formation.
