Abstract
A simulation model is utilized in order to analyze various scenarios of communication methods for the Operational Control Centre Rail (OCCR) of the Dutch railway industry. The OCCR is a multi-team system [Zaccaro et al., 2020] in which firms engage in collaboration to solve disruptions. A dyadic communication between teams and their members versus a communication strategy where liaisons take the coordination with other teams is compared. It was found that communication with a liaison outperforms in terms of average solving time and employee utilization the dyadic communication. The main reason for it that dyadic communications results in an information overflow.
