Abstract
A new approach to the fracture toughness analysis is presented through in-situ microcantilever bending in an electron microscope on a novel high vanadium high-speed steel coating additively manufactured by plasma transferred arc. Novel insights are provided into the micromechanical performance of advanced materials demanding for high hardness and toughness synergy.
