Abstract

Crime and literature have always had an intriguing and complex relationship. From classic detective and spy stories to modern true crime, the fascination with crime in literary works remains undiminished. The connection between crime and literature is rich, multi-layered, and historically deep-rooted. Literature has not only described crime but also shaped, critiqued, and even influenced how societies think about crime and punishment. In this article we analyse this fascinating intersection and show various ways in which crime and literature intersect.
