Abstract
Mass transfer across fluid interfaces is important in chemical process technology. The properties of the interface can affect mass transfer and therefore they are relevant in mass transfer processes. This thesis concentrates on convective liquid flows driven by surface tension gradients along a gas/liquid interface (Marangoni convection). If the surface tension depends on a solute concentration, these gradients will be created as a result of inhomogeneous evaporation of a solute across the interface.
