    Abstract

    Three new and one rarely observed marine algal species from the deeper parts of the fringing coral reef of Curaçao (Netherlands Antilles) are described, one of which also represents a new genus: Bakothamnion curassavicum nov. gen.nov.spec. (Rhodophyceae, Ceramiales); Diplothamnion jolyi nov.spec. (Rhodophyceae, Ceramiales); Rhododictyon bermudense Taylor (1961) (Rhodophyceae, Ceramiales); Udotea reticulata nov.spec. (Chlorophyceae, Caulerpales).
