Abstract

This chapter will show how dosage forms release their content and how you can influence where and how quickly the drug is released. For a patient, the use of a tablet or capsule is a simple act of mass transfer: unpacking and following the instructions, which usually implies swallowing the tablet or capsule. However, there is a lot of technology behind this as you will see in our first example.
