Abstract
A search for violation of the charge-parity (πΆβ’π) symmetry in the π·+ βπΎββ’πΎ+β’π+ decay is presented, with proton-proton collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.4ββfbβ1, collected at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV with the LHCb detector. A novel model-independent technique is used to compare the π·+ and π·β phase-space distributions, with instrumental asymmetries subtracted using the π·+π βπΎββ’πΎ+β’π+ decay as a control channel. The π value for the hypothesis of πΆβ’π conservation is 8.1%. The πΆβ’π asymmetry observables π΄πβ’π+πΆβ’π|π=(0.95Β±0.4β’3statΒ±0.2β’6syst)Γ10β3 and π΄Β―πΎ*0β’πΎ+πΆβ’π|π=(β0.26Β±0.5β’6statΒ±0.1β’8syst)Γ10β3 are also measured. These results show no evidence of πΆβ’π violation and represent the most sensitive search performed through the phase space of a multibody decay.
