Abstract

Our goal in this paper is firstly to provide an analysis of the causal relationships between TV news use and political attitudes on the basis of panel data. For this purpose we use the 1998-2002 Dutch Parliamentary Election Study. Secondly, a dynamic comparison of media use and political attitudes in the 1998 and 2002 Dutch elections is interesting because of the changes in both the media context and in the political context that occurred in this period
