    Abstract

This thesis examines several aspects that may contribute to the optimization of endovascular treatment (EVT) for acute ischemic stroke in order to improve clinical outcomes. In the first part of the thesis, the role of periprocedural monitoring is investigated. The effect of hypotension and the feasibility of near-infrared spectroscopy monitoring are analyzed. In the second part of the thesis, the impact of various management strategies is investigated. These strategies include local intra-arterial thrombolytics, carotid artery stenting during EVT, testing for abnormal clopidogrel metabolism in patients who undergo elective carotid artery stenting and alternative arterial access routes for EVT.
