Abstract
Accurate spectroscopic factors for neutron removal from 2°Spb, leading to single neutron hole states in 2°7pb, are derived from
the escape widths of the isobaric analog state of the 2°8pb ground state in 2°8Bi. The accuracy of the analysis, which follows a new
procedure, is discussed. Derived lower limits on the occupancies of neutron orbitals in 2°8Pb are 0.87 + 0.06 (p~/2), 0.92 + 0.08
(P3/2), 0.88+0,12 (f5/2) and a lower limit 0.7 (f7/2).
