    Abstract

In this contribution the key role of charge transfer processes in modelling and understanding the far-ultraviolet and X-ray emission induced by interaction of solar wind minor ions with cometary atmospheres is treated. The most relevant collision partners and energies are identified. In addition, the existence or lack of fundamental data is addressed.
