Abstract

Thin plates of Nb doped (Nb content, indicated in % by weight) PbZr1−xTixO3, with compositions x=0.030 (1% Nb), x=0.035 (1.5% Nb), x=0.05 (0.75% Nb) of about 0.15 to 0.20 mm thickness were investigated as thermal to electric energy converters. The pyroelectric vokage was measured as a function of temperature (increasing as well as decreasing) and the dependence of the pyroelectric response with composition at the low x end of the PZT phase diagram was obtained.
