Abstract

In this thesis two subjects are discussed that are different but at the same time closely related to each other. The first subject is the study of hyperons produced on a polarized 1,2H target using data taken in the HERMES experiment at DESY. The second subject is the development of a tracking detector, i.e. the Lambda Weels, that extends the acceptance of the HERMES spectrometer in order to increase the detection probability for Λ0 hyperons. ...
