    Abstract

The radical polymerization of p-methacryloyloxybenzoic acid (MBA), at 60 degrees C in DMF followed classical kinetics, whereas that in p-dioxane did not as revealed by the rate being proportional to [MBA](1.50) [AIBN](0.34). This could be explained by the dependency of the efficiency factor f on [MBA] and the presence of some primary termination. Some characterization data of the polymers are presented.
